Our Parish

Bethel Mar Thoma Church is a parish of the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church, a church founded by Jesus' disciple Thomas in the year 52 AD. It is thus one of the oldest denominations of Christianity.

Bethel one of three Chicago-area parishes of the Diocese of North America and Europe, the others being Chicago Mar Thoma Church (Des Plaines, IL) and St. Thomas Mar Thoma Church (Lombard, IL). The church first started as a chapel of the Chicago Mar Thoma Church in 1991 and became a parish on January 1, 1995.

Located near interstates I-57 and I-80, the church is conveniently accessible to those residing to the south of Chicago as well as those in neighboring Indiana.
